Two New Visitors

The birdfeeders are continuing to attract new visitors. Last week I spied this tiny red squirrel under James' feeder.

Making more infrequent visits is this small bird, which as far as I can tell is a Winter Wren. Any thoughts on if that is correct?

This week we were hit with a little snow squall, but I have to say it didn't bother me. After having been out in the desert for five years, I haven't yet had my fill of snow!

Snow Much Fun!

We got about 10 inches last night much to James' and my delight (I don't think Chris is as excited about the snow anymore) and so we headed out at about 9am to have some fun!

Of course, like some in his family, James was overcome with a need to get things clean. Here he is with a pine branch "sweeping" one of the bushes.

Oh no! My bird feeder looks more like an igloo!

"C'mon Mom, let's go for a winter walk!"

Mmmm, fresh snow, no peeing dogs in sight!

Whoops! Spoke too soon! Rocco, where's your coat?

Anyone for a picnic?

Snowy kisses are the best.

A lesson in animal tracks.

Looking for deer.

"Mom! Can we have some hot cocoa and marshmallows, pleeeeeeeeeze?"

Of course, my love.

Yay for snow!
